Carbs

 

Even if you run carbs you will still need an ECU, but this will only need to be the cheaper 2d ignition only ECU that can be picked up for approx £350.

 

Use the following carbs for each application:

1.6 ltr               Twin 40s

1.8 ltr               Twin 40s/45s

2 ltr                  Twin 45s

You can get extra bhp by using Twin 48s on the 2 ltr but will lose out on bottom end torque.

I have heard of people getting up to 145 bhp from a 2 lt on carbs using the HCS ignition ECU from a CVH Fiesta.  You will never get the full potential by doing this, but 145 bhp this cheaply is a good start.
